Concrete & Piling: How We Became Both

By 14/01/2025No Comments

In the industry of construction, you often see companies and firms that specialise in one aspect of the entire project. You have Ground-workers, labourers, pilers, roofers, tilers, etc.

Something you don’t see a lot of in this industry is companies specialising in two things, namely piling and concrete. This is something we are fully aware of, and some insight into how we operate would benefit everyone.

Rhino began as a piling firm, with a demographic of homeowners and contractors needing piling for smaller-scale jobs such as house extensions or new-builds. Something other firms were not doing, however, was keeping a detailed record of each job and employing someone with marketing skills to show the public. With this in mind, our director did what other companies didn’t: post content on social media.

Rhino began to elevate itself as a well-known piling firm in the Northwest, even taking on jobs hours away from our base in Hyde. The quality of social media content increased, and the amount of work increased alongside it. There was, however, an important question to be asked. What’s our next step?

Not many expected Rhino to see a piling company enter the concrete industry, but it makes perfect sense. Rhino’s piling teams could have a job finished before lunch time, but concrete would regularly be late or unpredictable. This only costs Rhino more money, so we asked ourselves “why not supply our own concrete?” and with that, Rhino Concrete came to be.

Fast-forward to 2025 and we are not only providing our piling teams with punctual concrete, we deliver all over the Northwest. We can even supply concrete on the same day of ordering. In a small amount of time, Rhino Concrete has achieved a tight group of regular customers. All while also being able to take on many new ones every week. We keep it simple, just call us and we can have concrete delivered to you as soon as possible. Click here to see an example of the projects we take on.

How does this compare with our piling firm? At the moment, we work in tandem to ensure efficiency. Our piling teams leave first-thing to arrive on-site, and then concrete begins loading the wagons. From there, no two days are the same, so our concrete teams prepare for every scenario. They leave our base fully-loaded, and keep in close contact with management, communication is key here. Any potential issues can be solved in one phone call, or in a matter of seconds by our teams.

But what’s the most important takeaway here? Rhino started out piling, and we know every gripe with concrete there is. We have eliminated all of these gripes, and created a concrete company with the customer’s needs as priority number one. Whether is’s every week or just the once, you’ll get quality concrete and service every time.
